The Liver Flush Drink – A Treat For Your Liver.
This Liver Flush Drink recipe is a favorite of ours. There are many variations. Here is the version my husband and I enjoy on a weekly basis – our Sunday morning treat!
If you drink alcohol or coffee, you know it’s your liver that takes the brunt of it. So give your liver a treat.
Ingredients:
Juice of 1 lemon
1 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
1 or 2 cloves of garlic
A small piece of fresh root ginger
Fruit juice and water to make almost a pint
Method:
Roughly chop the garlic and ginger. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process at high speed for about a minute. The lemon juice makes the oil and water form an emulsion – drink it down before it separates. Also the active ingredients of garlic loose their potency quickly once it’s cut. If you get the proportions right it tastes delicious - adjust to suit your own tastes.
Have this drink first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Start with one tablespoon of olive oil the first time.
